Practice Practical Techniques
Many people enjoy receiving bodywork, but don’t really know how to offer touch to someone else in a way that feels simple, safe and supportive.
This workshop is an invitation to learn just that.
You’ll come with someone you know, and together you’ll learn basic tools for giving and receiving touch — not as massage, not as therapy, and not as something complicated, but as a shared practice of attention, movement and care.
The focus of the workshop is on learning how to offer touch in a soft, open and attentive way. We will explore simple ways of leaning into the body, inviting small movements, listening through the hands, and allowing the body to respond without force or effort.
You don’t need any previous experience in bodywork, movement, massage or anatomy. The tools are simple and accessible, and the aim is that you leave with something real and usable — something you can continue exploring at home with each other.
You come together with one other person: a partner, friend, family member, roommate, or anyone you feel comfortable sharing touch with.
We will work fully clothed.
During the workshop, both people will have time to give and receive. There will be demonstrations, guided practice, and time to understand the principles behind the work: how to touch without trying to fix, how to use your own body weight instead of effort, how to stay soft while giving, and how to create movement that can feel spacious, safe and supportive.
After the workshop, you’ll receive a recording of the demonstrations and explanations, so you can return to the material and keep practicing at home.
What we’ll explore:
- How to give touch without pushing or forcing
- How to use gentle leaning instead of muscle effort
- How to invite small movements through the body
- How to listen through your hands
- How to stay soft, open and attentive while touching
- How to give and receive in a simple, respectful way
- How to create a shared bodywork practice at home
Structure of the workshop:
The workshop is 3 hours.
We will begin with an introduction and demonstration of the basic principles.
Then each person will have time to practice both roles: giving and receiving.
There will also be time for questions, details, and practical tips so you can continue working with the material at home.
